Theme: Spirit with Purpose

As a new week begins, Shavuot gives us a steady place to pause. Acts 2 is full of movement, sound, and public attention, but beneath all of that is something very clear: the Spirit was given with purpose. God was forming a people who would respond to Him with repentance, obedience, and faithful witness. That is still a needed word now. Many of us move through the week tired, distracted, and pulled in too many directions. This is a good moment to remember that God gives His Spirit to shape the way we live. (Beth Shulam)
This Week’s Scripture Anchor:
Acts 2:38
Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Peter ties the gift of the Holy Spirit to repentance, forgiveness, and a real turning toward God. Shavuot shows us that the Spirit was given in a covenant setting and for a holy purpose.

Spirit with Purpose at Shavuot
Shavuot has major motion picture energy. Power, sound, fire, and languages. Acts 2 deserves the awe of the miracle it carries. But if we only read that chapter for the dramatic moment, we risk missing the deeper shape of what God was doing. The Spirit was not poured out as spectacle. The Spirit was given with purpose...”
Ministry Spotlight: Yeshua College

Some of the most important Kingdom work happens quietly, far from headlines. In partnership with God’s Grace International and Netivyah Tzedakah v’Kehilah in Jerusalem, Yeshua College is helping train Bible leaders among the Lemba people of Zimbabwe, a community whose traditions echo ancient Israel in striking ways. Under the leadership of Joseph Shulam, this work is laying a foundation for long-term discipleship, raising up men and women who can carry the Scriptures into their communities and beyond. It is quiet work, but it is the kind that shapes generations.. Learn more or support this work here:
Blue Heart Movement Takeaway
A recent concern comes from Canada, where Prime Minister Mark Carney said on June 1 that antisemitism has reached levels not seen since World War II. Reuters reported that Jewish Canadians, though only about 1% of the population, were the target of roughly 70% of religion-based hate crimes in 2024. This is a clear reminder that antisemitism is still shaping public life in painful ways. The Blue Heart Movement exists to help believers stand visibly and faithfully with Jewish people and Israel.
